This week on Cat Context we talk about April’s Guild Wars 2 beta weekend, review Final Fantasy XIII-2, wonder why WoW raiding was so good in its heyday, and sheepishly admit that we really like Everquest 2.
Cat Context is the podcast by Liore and members of the Machiavellis Cat Gaming Community. We sit down every two weeks for 30 minutes to talk about what’s new in MMOs and RPGs, what we’ve been playing lately, and what embarrassing stories we can share.
The cohosts this week along with Liore are Orpho and Corranhorn. Have you too been suckered into EQ2? Say hi to Tarlie the Wood Elf Mystic on the Antonia Bayle server!

I’m gonna say about Guild Wars PvE is that the original game is entirely beatable solo. Just check WoodenPotatoes’s Let’s Play Guild Wars. He logged 500 hours of video playing all the story arcs, and beating the game entirely on his own. If you want to learn Guild Wars lore, and background for the second game, really look it up. It fills you in on so much detail about the world. It’s as intricate, if not more then the world of Warcraft. (The actual world, not just the game.)
I think ArenaNet are doing this purposefully. Guild Wars was done this way. It doesn’t discourage grouping, and people do regularly group to complete the missions and have fun together. The main grouping activities of Guild Wars were the dungeons, and PvP. I feel the second game will be along the same lines.
Corr was the best Vashj strider kiter? Really? I am offended now.
Hehehehe! Okay look, you both TIE for best strider kiter, okay? <3
