This week on Cat Context we ignore E3 and talk about Guild Wars 2 instead! We also discussed RIFT’s Storm Legion expansion and why we stopped playing the game in the first place, got an overview of the world of World of Tanks, talked about the challenges of quitting hardcore raiding and going casual, and took a very quick look at current mobile games and The Secret World weekend beta.
Cat Context is the podcast by Liore and members of the Machiavellis Cat Gaming Community. We skipped last podcast for a guild meet in Las Vegas, but usually we sit down every two weeks for 30 minutes to talk about what’s new in MMOs and RPGs, what we’ve been playing lately, and what embarrassing stories we can share.
Our cohosts this week are mellow dudes Juilin and Ellyndrial. We tried really hard to continue the pattern of insulting the listeners, but we’re not very good at it.
Hey, a poll! Let us know what you think about RIFT’s latest news:

I find it interesting that your co-hosts would call GW1 an AAA-title. I didn’t think it was perceived that way by any particularly big crowd when it launched the same year as WoW. I didn’t play it then, but the idea of a non-persistent world really put me off (still does and obviously GW2 introduces a big change here) and it also seemed very limited in terms of PVE (didnt it initially also have a very low level cap). a lot changed over the years of course, so I could imagine its popularity has grown over the years and no doubt its content and polish.
